President Cheryl Grey from Montana, recently welcomed association members and corporate partners to Lexington, Kentucky, for the 43rd annual conference of the National Association of State Comptrollers.

Several NASC members and former members were honored with awards at the recent 2024 NASC Annual Conference, held in Lexington, Kentucky, on March 13-15. Award recipients were selected by NASC President and Administrator of Montana’s State Financial Services Division Cheryl Grey. Awards were presented during a ceremony held on the evening of Wednesday, March 13.

Thank you all for the opportunity to serve as the president of the National Association of State Comptrollers. It has been an honor and privilege to serve with such an amazing group of professionals. I am so excited to invite you to join me and your peers in Lexington, Kentucky, this March 13-15 for NASC 2024.

On Wednesday, March 22, D. Clark Partridge, former state comptroller of Arizona, was named as a recipient of the National Association of State Comptrollers’ Louis L. Goldstein Leadership Award. This is NASC’s highest honor.

President Doug Cotnoir, state controller of Maine, recently welcomed association members and corporate partners to Portland, Maine, for the 42nd annual conference of the National Association of State Comptrollers. Click for a recap.

I look forward to visiting with you and welcoming you to the great state of Maine at the NASC conference in Portland this March 22-24. As Maine’s largest city, Portland is an unpretentious, scenic hub with cobblestone streets, working waterfront views, lighthouses and world-class dining.  Let’s hope for an early spring here in the northeast!

On Wednesday, March 16, John Radford, former state controller of Oregon, was named as a recipient of the National Association of State Comptrollers’ Louis L. Goldstein Leadership Award.

President Lynne Bajema, state comptroller of Oklahoma, recently welcomed association members and corporate partners to Oklahoma City for the 41st annual conference of the National Association of State Comptrollers. The conference was NASC's first in-person conference since the pandemic began in March 2020.

We are all faced with constant change, whether from GASB statements, legislation, world events, or technology, and involvement in NASACT has been invaluable through every change I’ve faced in the past ten years as state comptroller. I am so thankful for NASACT and for the comptrollers in other states that have been there to offer advice, experience, and lessons learned.

The National Association of State Comptrollers held its annual conference last week, with a record attendance of 265. The conference was held virtually on March 23 through 25 because of continued travel restrictions related to the Coronavirus pandemic.

State comptrollers recently met in Atlanta for their thirty-eighth annual conference, featuring record attendance of 184.

On March 13, Martin J. Benison (right) was named recipient of the National Association of State Comptrollers’ Louis L. Goldstein Leadership Award, NASC’s highest honor. NASC President Cynthia Cloud, state auditor of Wyoming, recently welcomed association members and corporate partners to Birmingham, Alabama, for the thirty-seventh annual conference of the National Association of State Comptrollers.

On Wednesday, March 21, Edgar C. Ross received the prestigious Louis L. Goldstein Leadership Award recognizing extraordinary excellence and leadership in state financial management and service to the association.

Thank you all for the opportunity to serve as the president of the National Association of State Comptrollers. I consider it an honor to have worked with so many wonderful people over the course of the past year, and I look forward to visiting with you all at the NASC conference in Montgomery, Alabama, this March 21-23.

NASC President Anna Maria Kiehl, state comptroller of Pennsylvania, recently welcomed her peers to Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, for the thirty-sixth annual conference of the National Association of State Comptrollers. The conference was held March 15-17 at the Hilton Harrisburg.

I still remember when I was newly appointed to the position of Pennsylvania state comptroller in 2007. There is so much to do it can be overwhelming at first. So I asked for advice from the outgoing comptroller, and his advice was simple and effective. He said, "get involved in NASACT." I didn't understand the wisdom of those simple words at the time, but I've come to really value our association.
