Accounting Manager
The Division of Accounts maintains the official accounting records for the state's budget, processes state payments, submits various IRS reports, and prepares the state's comprehensive annual financial report.

We are seeking an Accounting Manager with a proven track record of increasing responsibility that will help develop, implement, and manage the Division's new post audit business model.

Key responsibilities include:
  • Help further develop, test, and implement the Post Audit Planning and Business Document
  • Perform quality audit and data analyses from a review of records and other auditing resources to identify, legal, financial, compliance, and/or administrative problems or discrepancies
  • Prepare draft audit narrative reports from work paper summaries to document audit results, clearly communicate results and make recommendations for corrective actions
  • Create individual performance plans and complete performance evaluations for fiscal staff; assigning and delegating tasks and responsibilities appropriately to ensure efficiency and effectiveness
  • Direct, supervise, train, and lead the Post Audit team on a daily basis; coaching employees, setting performance goals and project deadlines, monitoring progress and providing constructive feedback
  • Lead the ERM efforts of the accounting team to ensure objectives are met through identifying, documenting, analyzing, and maintaining the internal control system
  • Possess excellent communication skills to provide maximum customer service and promote and influence change resolution both internally and externally
  • Review and understand TCA, F&A policy and procedures as applicable to fiscal operations and processes

Requirements Education and Experience: Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor's degree in accounting and experience equivalent to five or more years of full-time professional accounting or auditing work.

OR

Education and Experience: Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor's degree including thirty-six quarter hours in accounting and experience equivalent to five or more years of full-time professional accounting or auditing work.

Substitution of Graduate Education for Experience: Graduate coursework credit received from an accredited college or university in accounting may substitute for the required experience on a month for month basis to a maximum of one year (e.g., 36 graduate quarter hours in the above listed field may substitute for one year of the required experience.)

OR

Designated as a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and experience equivalent to three years of full-time professional accounting or auditing work.
