IT Auditor
The Florida Auditor General offers challenging and rewarding opportunities for those interested in Information Technology (IT) Audits or IT Support. Many of our IT professionals have degrees in the fields of Computer Science, Management Information Systems, and other IT-based fields. We offer hands-on training and classroom instruction, promotion opportunities, and a friendly work environment. IT Audit candidates should be familiar with IT topics related to security management, physical and logical access, user authentication, change management, and continuity planning, as well as emerging issues based on security trend analyses. In addition to possessing fundamental computing skills, our IT staff must be able to analyze problems and effectively communicate solutions.

| Requirements |
A bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in accounting and 30 semester or 45 quarter hours in excess of those required for a 4-year baccalaureate degree, meeting the educational requirements of the Florida State Board of Accountancy for licensure as a Certified Public Accountant (one year of relevant professional experience may be substituted for the hours in excess of those required for a 4-year baccalaureate degree if application was made prior to August 2, 1983, to the Florida State Board of Accountancy for taking the Certified Public Accountant’s examination); or
A master's degree from an accredited college or university in management information systems or information studies with an emphasis in information technology; or
A bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in accounting, management information systems, or information studies with an emphasis in information technology and one year of relevant professional experience; or
A bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in another field of study and possession of a Certified Information Systems Auditor certificate or a master’s degree in business administration and one year of relevant professional experience; or
Possession of a CPA certificate accepted by the Florida State Board of Accountancy.
The minimum salary for IT Auditor, the entry level classification, is $52,008. There is a $4,752 annual area differential for Miami-Dade and Palm Beach county official headquarters assignments and a $1,776 annual area differential for Lee, Sarasota, Hillsborough, Orange, and St Lucie counties official headquarters assignments. Individuals possessing a Certified Public Accountant certificate accepted by the Florida State Board of Accountancy or CISA certificate and qualifying work experience may be employed at above the entry level.
