When the private sector thinks of auditing, usually the first images that come to mind are tax returns or financial documents being reviewed. In fact, anyone who’s ever responded with ‘auditor’ in conversation has, likely many times, been asked about the deductibility of pet care, cryptocurrency losses, or other fringe cases. In the government world, however, performance auditing is a crucial public service that asks a deeper question of assertions, programs, or government in general: how is it working and how could it be better?
In the first of what will hopefully be a series of performance audit focused webinars, audit leaders from Kansas, Georgia, and California will share best practices on establishing performance audit scopes, identifying key audit objectives, and balancing audit requests with what is achievable in a reasonable timeframe.
Both new and established Performance Auditors will benefit from attending the webinar.
