OVERVIEW
Innovation: Everybody in government talks about it. Everyone wants more of it. Your government organization may have even invested in an innovation office or devoted funding to innovation initiatives.

But what does it really take to be innovative? What must you actually DO to transform your back-office into a center of innovation? And most importantly, how do you know when you’re being successful?

To answer those questions, Accenture launched a global study and interviewed 550 government organizations from 10 countries across different parts of the public sector. Our findings reveal who’s leading the way when it comes to innovation – and what they do that sets them apart.

Our research gets to the heart of how government innovation works in the real world. And, we’ve developed an approach that includes five core capabilities that are essential to innovation:

  • Strategy
  • Ideation
  • Absorption
  • Execution
  • And, finally, Outcomes & Benefits
We provide this study to give you an opportunity to explore what it really takes to transform the government back office into a center of innovation.

The NASACT Community

NASACT serves as the premier organization working to bring together state auditors, state comptrollers and state treasurers to cooperatively address government financial management issues. NASACT also manages two secretariats - the National State Auditors Association (NSAA) and the National Association of State Comptrollers (NASC). Both NSAA and NASC are included under the umbrella of NASACT’s budget and utilize staff hired by NASACT.
