NASACT Announces New Executive Committee Officers, Beth Pearce to Serve as President

The National Association of State Auditors, Comptrollers and Treasurers (NASACT) has elected its 2019-2020 Executive Committee officers. The officers were elected by the association’s members at the annual business meeting, held on August 20 at the 2019 NASACT Annual Conference held in Scottsdale, Arizona.

“I would like to thank 2019 president Clark Partridge for his leadership. As we look ahead to 2020, I welcome the chance to partner with leaders from across the country to build government transparency, accountability and integrity,” commented new President Beth Pearce. 

The Executive Committee governs the overall operations of NASACT. The committee is elected from the membership annually and is comprised of a president, vice president, second vice president, secretary, treasurer, immediate past president, and nine other members including three auditors, three comptrollers and three treasurers.
 
2019-2020 NASACT EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE OFFICERS
Beth Pearce is NASACT's president. She was appointed Vermont’s state treasurer in January 2011. She has over 40 years of experience in government finance at both the state and local levels. She previously served as Vermont’s deputy treasurer, as deputy treasurer for cash management at the Massachusetts State Treasurer’s Office, and as deputy comptroller for the town of Greenburgh, New York. She has a B.A. from the University of New Hampshire.
   
Elaine M. Howle is NASACT's first vice president. She was appointed as California’s first female state auditor in 2000. Ms. Howle is a certified public accountant and a certified government financial manager. Ms. Howle has a bachelor’s degree in sports management from the University of Massachusetts and a master’s of business administration from California State University, Sacramento. She is a past president of the National State Auditors Association.
   
Richard Eckstrom is NASACT's second vice president. He has served as South Carolina's comptroller general since 2002. From 1994 to 1998, he served as the state treasurer. Mr. Eckstrom is a graduate of the University of South Carolina. Following graduation, he was commissioned in the Navy and conducted oceanographic research for three years. Upon completion of military service, he earned an M.B.A. and a master of accountancy from the University of South Carolina. He is a past president of the National Association of State Comptrollers.
   
Manju Ganeriwala is NASACT's secretary. She was appointed state treasurer of Virginia effective January 1, 2009. Prior to her appointment, she served as deputy secretary of finance in Gov. Timothy Kaine’s cabinet. She holds a bachelor of commerce degree from the University of Bombay and a master’s in business administration degree from the University of Texas at Austin. Ms. Ganeriwala is a past president of the National Association of State Treasurers.
   
Dianne Ray is NASACT's treasurer. She was appointed state auditor of Colorado in June 2011. Prior to her appointment, she served as deputy state auditor and also worked in local government for 15 years. She holds a bachelor of science in accounting from Arizona State University and a master of public administration from the University of Colorado. Ms. Ray is a past president of the National State Auditors Association.
   
D. Clark Partridgeis NASACT's immediate past president. He has been with the state of Arizona for over 25 years. Mr. Partridge has a bachelor of science degree in accounting from Brigham Young University. He is a certified public accountant and a certified government financial manager. He is a past president of the National Association of State Comptrollers.
