Treasury Provides Information on the New Emergency Rental Program
Congress created a new Emergency Rental Assistance (ERA) program to provide funds for the payment of rent, rental arrears, utilities and home energy costs, and utility and home energy cost arrears on behalf of eligible households. Many jurisdictions that received payments from the Coronavirus Relief Fund (CRF) are eligible for grants from the ERA.
The website includes the grantee payment information form, instructions for submitting payment information, a list of eligible local governments, and a copy of the award terms that grantees must submit in order to receive payments from Treasury.
Governments must provide completed payment information and a signed acceptance of award terms form must be submitted not later than 11:59 p.m. EDT on January 12, 2021, to ensure payments are made within the 30-day period specified by the statute.
