National State Auditors Association
The NSAA
Performance Audit Committee is developing best practice guides
and compiling best practice Web site links for carrying out various
aspects of government programs. These guides and links will be
helpful to agency personnel as well as to audit staff when reviewing
government programs. However, these guides and links should not
be considered all-inclusive, but can be used as a starting point
for both agency personnel and auditors in deciding what types
of practices are more likely to result in an efficient and well-designed
government program.

National Assocation of State Comptrollers
Throughout the year, NASC's Committee on Innovations and Best Practices collects submissions of outstanding projects in state financial management in state comptrollers' offices. The application for submitting a project is on this web site.
The purpose of htis activity is twofold: (1) to share good ideas in state comptrollers' offices by publicizing the projects in the NASACT News and by posting detailed descriptions of the projects on this web site, and (2) to consider recognizing especially outstanding projects by the presentation of awards. Awards for a calendar year will be presented at NASC's annual conference in March of the following year. The members of the CIBP invite the assistance of their peers in identifying especially outstanding projects by asking them to nominate for an award a particular project that has been especially helpful to them.
