State Comptroller Elected as President of National Association
of State Comptrollers
Robert Rocha,
State Comptroller for Arizona, has been elected to a one-year
term as the 24th President of the National Association of State
Comptrollers (NASC) by his counterparts from across the country.
"We are honored
to have Bob serving at the head of such a prestigious national
organization," stated Arizona Governor Jane Hull. "Bob is one
of the great public servants. He is dedicated to quality in government
and sound fiscal performance. Bob will do an outstanding job as
the President of NASC."
NASC's members
are the officials in state governments who are responsible for
maintaining the states' finances, managing financial systems and
keeping the accounting records, and doing financial reporting
for the states. The purpose of NASC is to unite state officials
with comptroller responsibilities; to affiliate with other state
fiscal officials through the National Association of State Auditors,
Comptrollers, and Treasurers (NASACT); to encourage and provide
opportunities for the interchange of information and ideas among
officials in state government; and to provide a national forum
for the promulgation and dissemination of the State Comptroller
position concerning financial management of state government.
Mr. Rocha
has 32 years of service with the State of Arizona. He began with
the Office of the Auditor General, where he served as the manager
of the Tucson office. He transferred to the General Accounting
Office in the Department of Administration, and has served as
the State Comptroller for the last 9 years.
