Audit Standards and Reporting
Committee
Fosters the improvement of state government activities through
the promotion and development of generally accepted principles
of accounting, auditing standards and government auditing standards.
Auditor Training Committee
Enhances the professional proficiency of auditors, encourages
accountability to provide quality, offers state-of-the-art educational
programs and serves as a clearinghouse for training opportunities.
To perform this function, the committee works with state audit
and other educational organizations.
Auditor's Education Foundation
Committee
This committee is responsible for awarding scholarships for participation
in NSAA Sponsored conferences. The committee will meet at the
beginning of the fiscal year to determine its scholarship budget.
Applications will be accepted prior to NSAA sponsored conferences.
E-Government Committee
The mission of the E-Government Committee is to track the evolution
of e-government and to communicate relevant information to NSAA
members regarding the emerging use of e-government by: monitoring
the development and implementation of e-government initiatives
in state government; identifying control, security, and audit
issues to be considered when using e-government; identifying audit
approaches for testing controls and security in e-government applications;
and sharing relevant information regarding best practices.
Excellence in Accountability Awards
Committee
Promotes the NSAA awards program to recognize outstanding performance audit report(s) and special project(s) of state audit organizations.
Human Resources Committee
Promotes best practices in the recruitment, advancement and retention
of staff in state audit organizations.
Peer Review Committee
Establishes policies and procedures governing the NSAA external
peer review program.
Performance Audit Committee
Sponsors joint projects among NSAA members to improve audit efforts
through the sharing of information and expertise, to evaluate
programs of a common concern for state auditors, and to give access
to a national audience for those issues that need to be addressed
from a federal or national perspective.
Single Audit Committee
Represents NSAA on matters pertaining to single audit laws and
regulations and provides a forum for NSAA members to exchange
inquiries and best practices on single audits.
Annual Meeting Committee
Develops the technical program for the NSAA Annual Conference.
Nominating Committee
Nominates the NSAA Executive Committee.
Time and Place Committee
Selects the location for the NSAA Annual Conference.
Snodgrass Award Committee
Selects the recipient of the annual William P. Snodgrass Distinguished
Leadership Award.
